BBC Proms in the Park 2019: Tickets, date, line-up and everything you need to know

This year’s BBC Proms come to a close this week after two months of musical frivolity.

Last Night of the Proms is the big finale at the Royal Albert Hall, but it’s not the only place to enjoy the festivities.

BBC Proms in the Park is the largest outdoor classical music event in the country, and this year looks to be no different.

Grab your picnic, wrap up warm and settle in for an evening of fireworks and sing-a-longs.

When and where is Proms in the Park?

The concert takes place on September 14 at 5pm in Hyde Park.

Who is performing at Proms in the Park?

Michael Ball returns to host the evening, with Grammy Award-winner Barry Manilow headlining. Bonnie Tyler, the Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde, singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti, soul singer Gabrielle and soprano Aida Garifullina are also on the solo performers’ line-up. They are joined by nineties British pop group Lighthouse Family and two choirs, the Rock Choir and The Kingdom Choir, who performed at Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding.

The cast of Les Misérables will sing songs from the much-loved musical, while the 60-piece BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Richard Balcombe, will perform the traditional Last Night of the Proms anthems – such as Pomp and Circumstance and Land of Hope and Glory – live on the Hyde Park stage.

How to get to Proms in the Park

The closest tube stations are Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner, with Knightsbridge, Victoria, Bond Street and Green Park also a short walk to the event site. There is no parking in Hyde Park, and limited parking for pre-registered disabled customers.
