The Apple Cart Festival is set to return to Victoria Park for its second year this Diamond Jubilee bank holiday weekend.
The one-day bash incorporates music, comedy, art, magic and cabaret to create one of the summer’s most unique experiences for London’s discerning festival goers.
This year’s outing features established acts such as 80s legend Adam Ant and his new band The Good, The Mad and the Lovely Posse, singer songwriter Billy Brag and Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
Comedians on the bill include Phil Jupitus, Shappi Khorsandi, Rich Hall and Sean Lock.
The festival planners have also organised a series of Jubilee themed activities including a name that monarch medley contest and flag waving time trials.
The Apple Cart has established itself as a relaxed, family friendly festival which welcomes people of all ages and features acts especially curated for children.
Festival organiser Tom Baker said: “The Apple Cart is set to cement its reputation as a colourful festival of ideas that caters to adults and children alike.
“No other event in the capital has Turner prize winners and world class magicians and burlesque stars sit happily alongside arena-filling comedians and established music legends all on the same bill, on the same day.”
The festival, which was in August last year, has been moved to Sunday June 3, the day after Field Day Festival, because of the London 2012 Olympics.
The Apple Cart was launched by the creators of Field Day festival, which is established in the east London music scene as a must-see event of the summer.
