Paul Weller and his band will perform with a live orchestra in London this October.

The former Jam frontman will play two dates at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on October 11 and 12. Tickets will go on general sale at 10am on Friday 20 July.

Weller previously played with the Orchestra of Syrian Musicians at Southbank in 2016, although this will be the first time he will play with both his full band and an orchestra.

The shows come in support of his forthcoming release, True Meanings, the fourteenth solo album of his career, which will feature orchestral arrangements.

Announcing the Southbank Centre dates, Weller said: “Performing two nights in a venue as iconic as the Royal Festival Hall is a significant moment for me.

“It’s going to be a special two shows performing tracks from the new album and adding some older tracks into the set, all backed with a brilliant orchestra.”

Weller also promises appearances from some “special guests” at both gigs. True Meanings, released September 14, features collaborations with Rod Argent of the Zombies, Lucy Rose and even a "sneaky appearance" from Noel Gallagher.
