The O2 has announced its first ever grime takeover as Boy Better Know step in to run the venue on August 27.

The London record label, which boasts Wiley, JME and Mercury Prize winner Skepta among its ranks, will will run everything from the live entertainment to the bars to the cinema spaces.

The collective will also look after restaurants and communal spaces, as the Greenwich venue is transformed into a grime hub for one day only.

The announcement was launched yesterday evening with the ‘Boy Better Know’ logo projected onto the famous venue, which JME periscoped to his followers.

The Don’t @ Me rapper hit headlines earlier this month after tweeting his support for Jeremy Corbyn, to which Corbyn later replied, thanking him. Other London MCs to publicly declare their support for the Labour leader include Novelist and AJ Tracey. It’s all a long way from Dizzee Rascal rapping on his debut, “I’m a problem for Anthony Blair”.
