Noisily Festival 2018: Everything you need to know

This weekend it’s Noisily. Prepare to wow your senses, get in the trance mood and let your inner hippy out.

Noisily is rather laid back; you could choose to unwind and recharge here or get bang on it and exhaust yourself. I am planning to do a bit of both. The most taxing decision to make all festival is which stage to head to – and this is very much dependant on the speed of the bass line you're chasing. If it’s house and techno you crave then the Noisily stage is the place be, where in the woods the melodic sounds of synth oozes through the air and the sun breaks through the trees.

If it’s more of a funky rhythm you’re after, then head to Pablo Discobar (best stage name ever – and also the name of my dog). Here you’ll groove the day or night away. If you're a trance head, get yourself to the Liquid Stage.

This year I’m most excited by the Orca Sound Project stage. The Orca Sound Project is leading a movement of like-minded people toward a healthy ocean. Not only have they banned the use of single-use plastics across the site by traders, contributors and artists (bravo!) but they have an incredible line-up including Betoko, John Monkmon and my favourite DJ of all time, Jolyon Klean (aka Orca Sound). The stunning stage found in a circular clearing will be made from reclaimed wood and feature giant jelly fish made from chicken wire. With depth and perspective created by lighting, the light show should blow your mind.

At Noisily, the crowd is easy going, friendly, into alternative therapy and older than many of the gurning, bucket-hatted teenagers you see at other festivals. If you want to be part of the troop of 4000 who descend on the beautiful Coney Woods in Leicestershire this weekend, tickets are still available. It would be a shame to miss it.
