Camden Beach, Fri Aug 2

The Roundhouse relaunches its Camden Beach outside area with the first of a series of gigs by up-and-comers. This one’s an “urban soul” night featuring rapper Cynikal, singer JJ Soulx and hip hop DJ Milo.

Barbican, until Sun Aug 4

A remarkable five nights here for the Italian crossover pianist, best known here for his contributions to the soundtracks of Black Swan and This is England.

IndigO2, Fri Aug 2

Reggae veteran Holt gives himself a knighthood for a posh evening (black tie in some parts of the venue) featuring a big band and numerous guest singers.

The O2, Sun Aug 3

Three years since their last album and two since they last visited this venue, the metal giants return to play the hits.

A Grace Jones-type from Newcastle who has already appeared on Jools Holland, James and her wacky outfits will be performing electropop songs including next week’s new single, Step by Step.
