Rabble-rousing Canadians Arcade Fire aren’t an obvious choice for a kids’ film soundtrack, though they did have a song on the trailer for Where the Wild Things Are a while back. Now they’ve written one specially for Disney’s live action Dumbo. Baby Mine is a retro ballad that doesn’t sound much like them at all.

Taking a break from being a telly tough guy, Idris Elba has put his name to an old school reggae song, Stand By Me, released this week. It’s inspired by the world of his film directing debut, Yardie.

Syrian singer-songwriter Bedouine is getting ready for her second album and two forthcoming London shows with a blissful new song, When You’re Gone, which is surely the prettiest single of the week.

To mask-wearing DJ Marshmello’s long list of star guest vocalists we can now add Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches, who sings his latest single, Here With Me. It’s another catchy slice of mid-paced electropop, built more for the radio than the dancefloor.

It’s unlikely you need more music from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard after the Aussie psych rock band released five full albums in 2017. Nevertheless, the restless rhythms of Fishing for Fishies has a kooky video online this week.
