As news comes that Ray Davies has ended the epic feud with his brother Dave and paved the way for a Kinks reunion, his latest solo album is also out today. Our Country is the second installment of his America-themed albums.

Jim James of My Morning Jacket, who usually showcases his beautiful voice in a relaxed setting on his solo material, has turned up the electric guitars on his latest collection. Uniform Distortion, including the rowdy Throwback, is out today.

Art rock star St Vincent is billed under her real name, Annie Clark, on the latest single from Sheryl Crow. The bouncing beats and semi-rapped verses of I Wouldn’t Want to Be Like You make it end up sounding like Beck.

Now 65, Chaka Khan hasn’t released an album since 2007, but she’s still sounding funky on a new single, Like Sugar. It’s a collaboration with MIA producer Switch.
