Scandipop is in fine shape right now. Lest the success of Sigrid and Aurora suggest that Norway is stealing Sweden’s thunder, Tove Styrke is back with a short but brilliant new album today. The title track, Sway, is on YouTube now.

German producer DJ Koze releases his new album, Knock Knock, today and it’s a guest-heavy affair, including appearances from Róisín Murphy, José González AND Bon Iver. Look out too for Gladys Knight on the irresistable disco groove, Pick Up.

As a solo artist, Gaz Coombes continues to journey far from from the chirpy Britpop for which his band, Supergrass, are mostly remembered. The tense rhythms of The Oaks, from today’s new album World’s Strongest Man, are a fine example.

Father John Misty wasted no time following up last spring’s album Pure Comedy. The follow-up is coming in June, and the first song, the humorously self-referential Mr Tillman, has a strange video on YouTube now.

It was surely only a matter of time before Labrinth, Sia and Diplo got together and called themselves LSD. The big beats and filtered vocals of their collaboration, Genius, have just arrived on streaming services.
