Just like Noel Gallagher to release a fantastic new single in the week that his touchy little brother has a debut solo album out. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will have a third album out next month, and the delightfully rowdy lead track, Holy Mountain, sets the tone for something special.

With the Smashing Pumpkins name on hiatus, sole permanent band member Billy Corgan has gone a bit posh as he releases his first solo album in 12 years today. He’s releasing it under the name William Patrick Corgan, with the emotional single The Spaniards the latest to have a video on YouTube.

After going viral with his appearance on Charlie Sloth’s Fire in the Booth freestyle rap show, comedian Michael Dapaah has turned that 22 minutes of hilarity into a three-minute single. Man’s Not Hot by his alias Big Shaq is on streaming services now.

The distinctive voice of Archy Marshall is back with his second album as King Krule, The OOZ, out today. The dense, raw single Half Man Half Shark is the most recent video online.

Danceable indie band Django Django are setting the scene for a third album to come early next year, with a lively new single, Tic Tac Toe, which has just arrived on YouTube.
