The Internet exploded earlier this week when Kanye West unveiled his latest new song and it turned out to be a collaboration with todays other rap giant, Kendrick Lamar. No More Parties in LA runs on a hazy funk loop and features more than enough lyrics to unpick before West’s album appears.

Tricky’s latest album, Skilled Mechanics, sees the Bristol rapper breaking from his tradition of sharing the microphone with female singers and choosing to dominate the songs. It’s out today, with the dark electronica of the song Boy on YouTube.

Destined to be known forever for a twee Apple advert, Brooklyn duo Chairlift sound far better on their edgier single Romeo, the best song on their third album out today.

It’s sink or swim time for The 1975, the Manchester band who sold heavily with their debut album and now need to step fully into the big league with the follow-up. It’s an ambitious affair due in a month’s time, while the gospel-pop of the latest single, The Sound, is now streaming on Spotify.

Making sinister retro soul music that sounds like a Tarantino soundtrack without the violence, producer Adrian Younge releases his latest collection, Something About April II, today. It features the voices of Laetitia Sadier, Bilal and Karolina on the dramatic lead track, Winter is Here.
