A host of big names have been added to BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2019, including Billie Eilish, Vampire Weekend, Bring Me The Horizon and Stormzy.

The acts join previously announced headliners Miley Cyrus, The 1975 and Mumford & Sons at the event, which takes place at Middlesbrough’s Stewart Park on May 25 and 26.

DJ Greg James announced the news on Twitter this morning, also confirming that Stormzy, Pale Waves, Sigrid, Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender, Two Door Cinema Club, Anne Marie, Ellie Goulding, The Amazons, Catfish & The Bottlemen and Sean Paul will be performing.

Last year’s BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend took place in Swansea, featuring performances by the likes of George Ezra, Taylor Swift and Florence + The Machine.

17-year-old Eilish, one of the biggest draws at this year's festival, first made her mark on the industry after releasing her EP Don't Smile At Me in 2017.

The singer is due to release her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? on March 29.
