Bungie

Bungie is giving Destiny 2 players a chance to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement with a pin and an in-game badge.

The developer has officially opened pre-orders for a Black Lives Matter accessory, also known as the 'Be Heard' pin.

The design of the badge features a Black fist grabbing lightning bolt with the words 'Black Lives Matter' emblazoned beneath.

Pre-ordering has only just opened and the pins will begin to be shipped around 3-4 months after placing the order. However, you will get the exclusive Destiny 2 “Be Heard” emblem in the game within 24 hours after your order is placed.

You can order one now for €16.99 (£15.35) on the EU Bungie store.

All profits from the sales of the Be Heard Collectible Pin & Emblem will benefit the Equal Justice Initiative, which is committed to challenging racial and economic injustice in US society.

If you play Destiny, you know how visible your Emblems are, appearing next to your name and in profiles while playing multiplayer.

Emblems act as something of an achievement tracker which you can proudly show off after earning them by completing certain challenges and story missions.

Alongside the release of these pins, developer Bungie issued the following statement: "We at Bungie are making a commitment to stand up on behalf of our Black community; including our players, developers, fans, and neighbours. Racial injustice surrounds us, and we need to help create positive change. Black Lives Matter.

“We know that Guardians in Destiny fight for humanity and hope.

“And while the real challenges that Black people face are not as easily vanquished as the enemies in our game, we look forward to seeing Guardians come together in this fight as well.

"Together, we intend to replace injustice with equality wherever we see it.”
