Philippe Le Guay’s upstairs-downstairs comedy goes for charm and good playing over conviction.

Potiche star Fabrice Luchini plays a wealthy stockbroker whose maid abandons the family and is replaced by a young and pretty Spaniard Natalia Verbeke . The women on the sixth floor, mostly in menial jobs, are enchanted with the new arrival and the household becomes a properly cross-cultural ménage. Carmen Maura and Lola Duenas contribute to a lively piece of very French flim-flam.
