This is Chile's Play

Window seat: Play tells the story of an architect having a bad day
Fiona Morrow|Metro10 April 2012

Play opens in Santiago, Chile. Architect Tristan (Andres Ulloa) is having a bad day. His wife has thrown him out, he's been beaten up and had his briefcase stolen. Next day, Cristina (Viviana Herrera) finds the case. But, before she returns it, she trails Tristan, feeling herself ever more drawn to him and his life. Writer/director Alicia Scherson's talent is obvious from the opening credits. She plays with sound, knows how to have fun with an image and moves proceedings along at a perky clip. There's no such strength of design behind the story, however, which trails round and round but never quite sticks.
