Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge has joined forces with her musician sister to make her first feature film.

The writer and actress, 34, told an audience at the Royal Festival Hall that she wanted her next project “to be the best thing ever”. She said: “I went to bed on the last filming day of Fleabag thinking, ‘That was the most amazing journey, I hope I have another idea’ and the next morning I had this idea. I’m really excited about it. It’s a movie and I’m collaborating with my sister.”

Isobel Waller-Bridge, 35, trained at the Royal Academy of Music. She composed the score for her sister’s acclaimed BBC comedy Fleabag. The second series starred Andrew Scott as the “hot priest”, who falls in love with Waller-Bridge’s titular character.

At last night’s event, for her book Fleabag: The Scriptures, Waller-Bridge praised a monk called Father William to whom she spoke while researching Scott’s role. She said: “He talked to me about celibacy and what happens when you’re tempted.”

She also discussed being asked to help “polish the script” for new Bond film No Time To Die, which she called a “really mad job”. She said: “Ideally it will be so seamless that you won’t know but secretly I’m hoping that you can.”
