Incompetent update

Yours, Mine And Ours is another dismal remake, this time of a deservedly forgotten Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda comedy from 1968.

It's been updated - incompetently - to cash in on the success of Cheaper By The Dozen, with loads of infantile slapstick, witless dialogue and soggy schmaltz.

It stars two of my favourite actors, and I wish it didn't. Rene Russo (as a messy Bohemian mother) plays alongside Dennis Quaid (as a disciplinarian dad) who fall for each other, although their families don't.

Battling with a tediously predictable plot and 18 tiresome children, Russo and Quaid fail to convince us they have anything in common with each other or their excessively noisy kids.

The man principally responsible, Raja Gosnell, also directed Scooby Doo 1 & 2 and Big Momma's House.

Someone, please stop him. He's giving me a headache.
