Familiar tale of haunted house

Efficiently scary: a family of four regrets moving to the country when they discover their new home is haunted
10 April 2012

You'll have seen something like identical twins Danny and Oxide Pang's horror movie a dozen times before.

There's the old haunted house in the country where a family of four decide to escape the rat race. There's a child who can see the ghosts of the stricken previous owners before the adults. There's furniture thrown about all over the place, rattling windows and viciously pecking crows springing out of the basement. And there's even worse to follow.

It's an efficiently scary if totally unoriginal take on the paranormal, with Dylan McDermott and Penelope Ann Miller as the worried parents, Kristen Stewart as the teenage daughter and Evan and Theodore Turner taking turns to play her small brother.
