This is a virtually all-black remake of the 2007 film directed by Frank Oz about a funeral in the English countryside that goes disastrously wrong.

It wasn’t much appreciated the first time round but the writer, Dean Craig, and new director Neil LaBute have revived it in a.

When one mentions that the starry cast includes Chris Rock (grieving son, right), Martin Lawrence, Loretta Devine, Regina Hall and Danny Glover, hopes may be lifted. But they are brought down to earth with a thud with news that the wrong body is in the coffin and hallucinogenic drugs have accidentally been ingested on the way to the funeral.

The British film wasn’t much better. But, beleive me, it was easier to watch than this loud mess.
