Baby boy for Hurley

10 April 2012

Model and actress Liz Hurley today gave birth to a baby boy."Elizabeth Hurley is delighted to announce the birth of her son, Damian Charles," a spokeswoman said in a statement.

"Both mother and baby are happy and healthy. Damian was born at 12.22pm on 4 April."

Hurley, 36, announced she was pregnant in November last year and named Hollywood movie producer Steve Bing as the father. She began a relationship with the multi-millionaire playboy soon after splitting from long-term love Hugh Grant.

But the actress and model was stunned when Bing issued a public statement casting doubt on whether the baby was his."Ms Hurley and I were not in an exclusive relationship when she became pregnant. It is her choice to be a single mother," he said.

"If indeed I am the father, I will be an extremely involved and responsible parent."

Hurley has been supported throughout her pregnancy by Grant, with whom she split in 2000.The pair had remained close since the end of their 13 year relationship and the actor reportedly accompanied her to a pre-natal check-up at St John and St Elizabeth Hospital in St John's Wood, north London.

Hurley told one interviewer that she imagined being an over-protective mother: "I'm going to be awful. I want a mummy's boy who sits on my knee all day and tell me he loves me."
