Award-winning portrait artist Mary Jane Ansell is best known for her narrative paintings of aesthetic young women in the classical style. Her upcoming solo show is inspired by military themes, vintage costumes and Scandinavian antiques. Ansell has been a finalist several times in the prestigious BP National Portrait Awards and her portrait of her muse, Georgie, in Girl in a Cocked Hat was chosen by Eighties icon Adam Ant to grace the cover of his comeback CD.
