16 November 2012

Tim Key

A welcome revival of Key’s acclaimed 2011 piece Masterslut, in which he reads poetry, tells jokes, sings East European pop, wanders through the audience and generally bathes in the beauty of this immaculately structured show.

Until November 24, Arts Theatre, WC2 (020 7836 8463, artstheatrewestend.co.uk)

Greg Davies

This has been a great year for this comedy giant, who follows his hit sitcom Cuckoo with this hilarious live show. Davies was once a teacher but don’t be fooled by the onstage flipchart, this is no lecture, more a gloriously daft romp through vivid anecdotes, from muddy Glastonbury japes to puerile antics at a Spanish religious ceremony.

Tomorrow, Hammersmith Apollo, W6 (0844 844 0444, ticketmaster.co.uk)

Reggie Watts

Is it music? Is it comedy? Who knows what is going on in the weird mind of cult US performer Watts, who mixes looped beats and rhythms with freeform storytelling and unexpected accents. Hard to classify, but wonderful fun for anyone who likes their comedy zapped with a blast of surrealism.

Sunday, Union Chapel, N1 (020 7424 8918, theinvisibledot.com)
