When E L James released Fifty Shades of Grey in 2011, she revealed that the book had originally started out as Twilight fanfiction.

Yet, the trilogy took on a life of its own, selling 150 million copies worldwide and introducing bondage erotica to the mainstream market. The novels even spawned three films starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.

Now, James is set to release her first book since Fifty Shades of Grey became a worldwide phenomenon and it’s called The Mister.

According to Penguin: “The Mister is a contemporary romance set in London, Cornwall and Eastern Europe that introduces readers to the privileged and aristocratic young Englishman Maxim Trevelyan and the mysterious, talented and beautiful Alessia Demachi, who’s recently arrived in London owning little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.”

James has described her new novel as a ‘passionate romance’ and a ‘Cinderella story for the twenty-first century’.

James continued: “Maxim and Alessia have led me on a fascinating journey and I hope that my readers will be swept away by their thrilling and sensual tale, just as I was while writing, and that, like me, they fall in love with them.”

The Mister will be released in April this year, making this book the perfect raunchy summer read…
