Three leading ladies of international politics are about to grace the London stage – in a more fabulous guise than you’ve ever seen them before.

Drag artist Ripley will be impersonating political powers Melania Trump, Theresa May and Nicola Sturgeon in a London show next month.

The London-based, Edinburgh-born artist will be previewing her Like A Sturgeon show at The Glory on July 12, before taking her act home for a run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August.

The performance will be a lipsynced fusion of comedy, drag, politics and pop music, and will see Ripley take on Scottish Independence, Brexit and the trials and tribulations of being the First Lady of the Trump Presidency.

The London performance will take place in the expected week of President Trump’s state visit to the UK, and Ripley is particularly enthused at the prospect of bringing her Sturgeon act to Scotland the following month.

“The First Minister has been a huge source of inspiration to me as an artist,” said Ripley, “and I’m hoping that Nicola Sturgeon will find time in her busy schedule to pop up the road from Holyrood to come and watch.”
