When will Nokia understand that it makes very good phones — ones that you can actually talk on, even when moving around — which are much more realiable than iPhones and other fancy 3G handsets. Get your marketing right, Nokia, and you will amaze yourselves.

Presumably next week this assertion will be backed up by a brilliant rebuttal of the hundreds of epidemiological studies that have demonstrated a clear link between passive smoking and lung cancer, heart disease, asthma and sudden infant death syndrome. Or will we get Saatchi’s incisive views on brain surgery or nuclear fusion instead?
How refreshing to read Charles Saatchi’s condemnation of the smoking ban. What a pity we do not have a more courageous Prime Minister who would include in his manifesto a promise to soften or repeal this law. He would get many votes.

If Mark Newberry (Txts, Thurs) wants a real example of abuse of a word, can I cite the word “sorry”? Lazy Londoners who can’t be bothered to say “excuse me” use “sorry” instead. I am bewildered by crowd-bargers continually apologising to me until their bolshy body language indicates they want me to move.
