Slowdown in trading curbs Electro revenue

11 April 2012

Computing distributer Electrocomponents today admitted there had been a slowdown in trading across all its regions in the half year to the end of September, although that was compared with a strong performance in the year-earlier period.

UK revenue growth for September declined by about 1%, although overall group revenues for the month grew by around 5%.

Shares in the group fell 3% - by 5p to 184.95p after the trading update.

"While we are mindful of economic conditions... the business is continuing to deliver year-on-year sales growth," said chief executive Ian Mason.
