Ladbrokes set for £80m tax boost

Ladbrokes today said it would be receiving an £80 million repayment from the taxman after reaching a settlement over its corporation tax.

It has been negotiating with HM revenue and Customs over its tax paid in the year up to 31 December 2007.

HMRC has recognised a £262 million tax credit in the 2010 income statement, which partly reflected tax losses allowed to be used to offset future profits.
