British jeweller Boodles, which counts Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Helen Mirren among its fans, is looking to London to aid expansion plans.

The company will today unveil its revamped flagship store between Albemarle Street and Bond Street, which has doubled in size to 2500 square feet.

Boodles, which sells luxury products ranging from £1,500 to over £1 million, has five shops in the capital and is looking to increase its presence in them rather than finding new stores in London, where retail rents are rocketing.

Director Michael Wainwright told the Evening Standard: “We see the company as having significant scope to grow in London in the coming years by taking on more square footage, updating shop fits and working at enhancing the brand, rather than feeling we have to open new showrooms around the world to grow the business.”

It follows “significant growth in the last few years” he added.

Sales were up 15% significant in 2014 and figures are expected to be similar this year.
