Greene King boss picks up £1m

11 April 2012

Greene King has had a good year, and so has chief executive Rooney Anand.

The annual report for the pub company and brewer shows that Anand got the thick end of a million pounds for his efforts this year - £984,000 excluding share awards and pension payments.

That was sharply up from £667,000 the year before. He received a bonus of £473,000.

Greene King has just agreed a deal to buy the Capital Pub Company, the firm that operates 35 London pubs.

Finance director Ian Bull was paid £618,000, which included a bonus of £283,000.

Greene King paid £93 million for Capital, trumping an earlier bid from rival Fuller, Smith & Turner.
