The Gym Group looks to fill gaps on Tube map

The Gym Group plans to target London’s Tube network over the next 10 years as demand for low-cost gyms remains strong.

The firm wants to open a further seven gyms in the capital this year, including premises in Barnet, Moorgate, Putney, Tower Hamlets and Wandsworth.

Chief executive John Treharne said: “Our aim is to have a gym near most Tube stations within the next decade.” Gym Group, which has 35 gyms in the UK, has teamed up with corporate finance advisers at McQueen to raise funds for expansion and first-round bids are expected shortly.
