Retiring ARM finance chief Tim Score bags top prize

Score's financial discipline in a competitive smartphone market was recognised

Retiring ARM Holdings finance director Tim Score capped a “stellar” 12-year career at the chip designer last night with the coveted accolade of FTSE 100 finance director of the year.

Score, who began running ARM’s numbers in 2002, this week announced plans to step down in May 2015.

He beat easyJet’s Chris Kennedy and BT Group’s Tony Chanmugam to land the award, organised by Real Business and supported by the Evening Standard.

Score won recognition from the judges for “delivering outstanding financial discipline in one of the most dynamic smartphone markets ever seen and managing stellar company growth”.

At the awards, held in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Standard Life’s Mark Hesketh was named Inspirational FD of the Year.
