As Sir Win Bischoff exits as chairman from Lloyds, who are the likely contenders to replace him?

Anita Frew

55 A non-executive director of Lloyds since December 2010. Scottish. Career began at RBS, worked for WPP and then set up her own PR business. Knows her way around the Lloyds set-up and has good links outside the bank.

Paul Tucker

55 Deputy Governor of the Bank of England. Knows his banking and regulatory onions. Could treble his pay if he got the £715,000-a-year Lloyds role but might fancy something even more lucrative in the private sector.

Bill Winters

51 Head of Renshaw Bay, a private equity-cum-credit fund. He quit JPMorgan in 2009 and served on Sir John Vickers’s commission on banking. Knows his way around the City and Whitehall. Not shy to criticise bankers.

Ann Godbehere

58 Director of BAT, Rio Tinto, UBS and others. This Canadian with British nationality was Northern Rock’s finance director after privatisation. She has made her name as a strong non-executive on many boards.
